The Aisle View: Ghost Ship & Punch Drunk Love

DVD Savant: Alec Guinness Collection, Anatomy of a Dancer, and more

Warners' Gene Kelly: Anatomy of a Dancer- a Hollywood bio of the great dancer that manages to be incisive without being gossipy, and puts a proper perspective on Kelly's achievements.

MGM Super Giveaways - Y Tu Mama Tambien & Windtalkers

The timing couldn't be more perfect this week as Columbia Tri-Star releases Mr Deeds [Review] just as Punch Drunk Love [Review] with Adam Sandler hits theaters. Artisan opens up their vaults with two collector's editions of High Noon and The Quiet Man. From Paramount comes the latest Star Trek Special Edition DVD with Star Trek III - The Search for Spock (Special Edition) [Review]. From Criterion comes the highly anticipated Jim Jarmusch classic Down By Law. From MGM comes the steamy Y Tu Mama Tambien which comes in an unrated version and finally Universal's release of ET which they declined to send to any online press for review. For some unknown reason The Ring has had some strange pull on DVD Talk Reviewers, it's one of the most covered theatrical releases this year. First, it's the topic of this week's Aisle View, it's covered in Our Week in DVDs and Movies, covered by The DVD Savant and reviewed by Aaron Beierle, Blake Kunisch and Chris Hughes. All this coverage wasn't planned, it just happened.... spooky eh?!?
Fox has announced the DVD release for Jennifer Aniston's break out performance in The Good Girl. Set for release on January 7th, The Good Girl will be presented in both widescreen (enhanced for 16x9 TVs) and full frame with Dolby Digital 5.1 and feature: audio commentary by Director Miguel Arteta, writer and star Mike White, and Jennifer Aniston, deleted scenes and an alternate ending with Director's commentary. Pre-Order The Good Girl and check out our theatrical review of the movie.
Fox has announced the DVD release for One Hour Photo. Set for release on January 28, One Hour Photo will be released in seperate widescreen and fullscreen versions both with Dolby Digital 5.1 audio and featuring: audio commentary by Director Mark Romanek and star Robin Williams, The 'Charlie Rose Show' segment with Robin Williams, Cinemax 'Making-of' and the Sundance Channel's 'Anatomy of a Scene'.
